What this report shows
The New clients report shows how many new clients you've gained over time and lets you see the individual clients behind that trend. You can measure "new" in two ways, either by when a client joined or by when they first attended, so you can look at sign-ups or actual first visits depending on what you want to track.

What's on the page
New clients over time (chart)
A column chart showing how many new clients you gained in each period across the range you're looking at. Each bar is a simple count of the new clients in that period. There is no calculation behind the height of the bars, just a tally.
New clients table
Below the chart there's a table that lists the individual new clients, one row per client. This detail table only appears once you've chosen a filter, until you do, the report shows just the chart (or a prompt to pick a filter) rather than the full list.
This table is a list. It shows individual clients, not calculated totals, so there are no formulas to explain here.
Filters and options
See Filters and date ranges for Location and the date controls.
Option specific to this report:
How "new" is measured — a select that switches the report between two definitions of a new client:
Joined. This counts a client in the period their record was created (when they joined your business).
First Attended. This counts a client in the period of their first actual appointment or class, regardless of when they were added.
Switching between these two re-buckets both the chart and the list, so a client who was added in one month but didn't come in until a later month will land in a different bar depending on which option you pick.
The individual-client table only loads once a filter has been chosen, so set your filters first to see the detail beneath the chart.
