What this report shows
The Payment Summary report totals the money you've taken by payment method, whether that be by Cash, EFTPOS, Stripe, Health Fund and so on, and lists the individual payments behind those totals. Use it to reconcile takings and see how clients are paying.

What's on the page
Payment totals table
One row per payment method, plus a Business Total row that sums every method. Columns:
Payment type = the payment method (for example Health Fund, EFTPOS, Cash, Stripe, Other, Subscription, DVA, Medicare, Workers Compensation, Tyro Card, Paid via Account Credit).
Amount = the total taken through that method.
Subscription payments are added as a single combined row at the end of the method list.
Payment list
A detail table listing the individual payments, with these columns:
Invoice no is the invoice(s) the payment was applied to.
Client is the client who paid.
Practitioner is the team member(s) on the payment.
Payment method is how it was paid.
Payment date is when it was paid.
Amount is the payment amount.
Filters and options
See Filters and date ranges for Location, Team member and the date controls.
Control specific to this report:
Paid / Accrued. This switches the report between the two ways of counting revenue. See Paid vs Accrued revenue.
How the numbers are calculated
Method totals
Each payment is split across the method(s) it was paid with, and those splits are added up per method.
Method total = the sum of all payment amounts taken through that method
Business Total = the sum of every method's total
Refunds reduce the total. A refund is counted as a negative against the method it was refunded through, so it lowers that method's total rather than being listed separately.
Worked example: in the period you took $1,000 by EFTPOS and later refunded $150 by EFTPOS → the EFTPOS row shows $850.
