Every client has a unique username for signing in to the Pogozo mobile app and online bookings. Usernames make it possible for multiple clients, such as family members or dependents, to share one contact email while keeping separate accounts.
Create a client username
Usernames are generated automatically when a client profile is added to Pogozo, however you can create or update a username if you want.
Client usernames can be found in the client profile under the client details section.
To update a clients username go to the client profile and select edit.
Add the new username and then update your changes.
Tips for choosing a username:
• Each username is unique across Pogozo, not just your business
• Usernames are not case-sensitive
• A client's username and contact email are separate, however you can use the client's email address as their username if that is easier for them to remember
• Changing a client's email does not change their username
• A username must contain between 3 and 250 characters
• Use only letters, numbers, periods (.), underscores (_), hyphens (-), at signs (@), or plus signs (+)
FAQ
This username is already taken
Another Pogozo client already uses that username. Usernames are unique across Pogozo and not just unique for your business. Add a meaningful number or another permitted character and try again.
The client cannot sign in with their email
Clients are required to sign in with their username, not their email address. An email address cannot identify the correct account in the event that multiple clients at the same business share an email address.
TIP A client may use their email as their username. The client needs to add their email address into the username field to do this.
What if the client changed their email?
Their username stays the same. Updating contact information does not update the value they use to sign in.
What if the client's username was changed?
The old username no longer works and the client will need to log in using their new username.
The client doesn't have an email address, or the email address was added after the account was created so they didn't receive their welcome email with their username.
If the client doesn't have an email address you can share the username with them via SMS, over the phone or in person.
If you added the email address in after the welcome email sent, the client can either go through the forgot username flow from the mobile app or you can send them the username email
If clients use usernames to log into the mobile app can two clients use the same email address?
Yes. Each client has a unique username, while their contact email may be shared.
Can two clients use the same username at different businesses?
No. A username is unique across all of Pogozo.
Is a username case-sensitive?
No. Pogozo saves and compares usernames in lowercase.
Does changing an email change the username?
No. The username remains the client's sign-in identifier until a staff member changes it.
Can a username look like an email address?
Yes. Usernames can contain @ and + characters. Some users may find it easier to use their email address as their username.
Can I choose a username while creating a client?
No. Pogozo creates it automatically. You can update it later for an eligible client.
Where should clients look for their username?
Clients should check their welcome email first. They can also use Forgot username when available or contact the business for help.
