Tags let you label clients based on shared traits so you can easily group, filter, and communicate with them at scale. This guide walks you through how to create tags, apply them to client profiles, and remove them when they're no longer needed.

What is a tag?

Tags are labels you can apply to client profiles to group clients who share a common trait - for example, a specific injury, treatment type, or program. Once tagged, those clients can be added to an audience and contacted as a group. For example, you could tag all clients with a shoulder injury and send them an email about a new shoulder treatment.

Creating tags

Before you can apply tags to clients, you need to add them to your Pogozo account.

Go to Settings then Communications & Marketing and select Communication Settings.

Scroll down to Client Tags, type in the name of the tag you want to create and press Enter. The tag will appear under the add tags section.

Once you've added all your tags, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update Changes.

TIP: Think about how you actually group clients day-to-day — those categories make the most useful tags. Avoid creating tags that overlap, as this makes filtering less effective.

Removing a tag

Go to Settings, then Communications & Marketing, select Communication Settings.

Scroll down to Client Tags. Click the X to the right of the tag you'd like to remove.

Scroll to the bottom and click Update Changes to save.

Applying a tag to a client

Go to Clients and open the client's profile by clicking their name.

Click the pencil icon in the top right corner to edit the profile.

Scroll down to Client Tags. Search for the tag you'd like to apply by typing in the field or using the dropdown menu. Once selected, the tag will appear under the search bar. You can add multiple tags to a single profile.

Scroll to the bottom and click Update to save your changes.

You'll see the tag in the client's profile.

TIP: Once you've applied tags to your clients, you can use them as a filter when creating an audience - for example, creating an audience of all clients tagged "Shoulder" to send them a targeted email. Learn more in the Creating audiences guide.
